At 11 months Layla is standing, squatting, cruising and even took her first steps! She loves to play music with her tambourine, maracas, and anything that makes noise. She loves reading as well. Some of her favorite books are Flip, Flap, Fly, Good Night Moon, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Winnie the Pooh.
Her favorite stuffed animal is still "Mousie" The stuffed mouse from If You Give a Mouse A Cookie, that her cousins gave her. Although luckily she also loves her bear and monkey who get to tag along many places... and by love I mean she loves to chew on them... Poor stuffies! She bites them, chews them, and carries them around with her mouth (like her doggie siblings do).
Unfortunately, this month she also got sick. Here in her 11 month pictures you can tell she is not feeling so great. She somehow ended up with a kidney infection. We knew she hadn't been herself and just thought she was teething until her fever spiked to 103.5. We took her to the dr right away and she had to get blood work and she had to get a catheter urine sample. My sweet girl was such a trooper, although she made her protest known. We are happy to report that her ultrasound results were normal and she is back to normal after a round of antibiotics. We are glad that she is back to her perky, active, happy, adventurous, non-stop self.
